Sun Hydraulics has already celebrated its 50th anniversary, as it began its business in 1970 in Sarasota, Florida (USA). It was founded by engineers Bob Koski and John Allen. Due to its growing demand, Sun opened branches in the UK and Switzerland in the 1980s while expanding and adapting its range of insertable valves to meet market needs.
In the 1990s, Sun Hydraulics opened new factories in Sarasota and Germany and established collaboration and production agreements with Asian companies (Taiphil). In the early 2000s, Sun opened a sales office in France and a factory in Kansas for the production of ductile iron manifolds.
In the second decade of the 2000s, Sun continued its expansion by acquiring companies and opening factories and branches in China, Australia, and South Korea. Since 2018, Sun Hydraulics has been part of the company Helios Technologies.
